Our client is one of the UK’s leading Wholesale & Distribution companies dealing with a multiple range of lifestyle products. Our client is currently recruiting an experienced and ambitious qualified Accountant to act as Group Financial Controller during a time of growth and expansion.

With several branches based across the UK, this role will be challenging, varied and will consist of the following:

• Leading, motivating and supervision of the accounts department team of 4
• Plan the year end close & audit close with detailed achievable timelines
• To ensure rigorous financial control and reporting environment for the group
• Lead the budget process for the full group companies
• Preparation of board packs for the shareholders with detailed pack to show the monthly results with commentary on Margin & Overheads
• Ensure the continuous innovation, improvement and completion of monthly management accounts (balance sheet reconciliation, monthly variance reporting, accruals and prepayments, P&L review etc)
• Co-ordinate deadlines and activities of team to meet corporate objectives
• Discuss, plan and communicate Audit plan with Auditors and team to achieve the timeline
• Overall review of monthly management accounts
• Financial advice and guidance
• Prepare and discuss the KPI (SL, PL & Management Accounts) with the team and ensure smooth running of the business.

Key skills:
• Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA
• Previous experience working as a Group Financial Controller
• Experience within the wholesale or distribution sectors is highly desirable however not essential
• Strong IT skills / working knowledge of various accountancy applications
• Experience in managing and leading a team
