Our client is a fast-growing entrepreneurial business with vast experience in the property, finance and financial services sectors. They focus on providing short-term loans secured (first charge) against UK property (commercial and residential).

Since inception, our client has deployed  £60 million in the past 24 months and are looking to continue their growth and expand the business over the next few years.

We are recruiting an experienced Loans Underwriter to join their team and contribute to facilitate the growth of the business. The offices are located in beautiful offices in the heart of W1.

Duties to include;

  • Initial Underwriting
  • Responsibility for initial assessment of enquiries from brokers and borrowers
  • Compiling information, researching areas, conducting initial analysis, identifying gaps required for full analysis
  • Compiling information in order to analyse prospective deals to include, where appropriate: Property research including assessing comparable, appraisals, cost plans and business plans.
  • Preparation of indicative terms
  • Attending meetings with borrowers prior to credit approval.
  • Responsibility for full deal assessment for credit approval
  • Liaising with borrowers and their brokers to satisfy any conditions of the loan prior to issuing facility.
  • Assist with the issuing of the Facility Agreements where required.
  • Sourcing valuation and monitoring quotes for new loans.

Required experience

  • A background in property or finance is essential
  • Previous experience in underwriting essential
  • Strong IT skills
